24 Core Single Mode Indoor Bundle Fiber Optic Cable
Breakout style fiber optical cable (also called breakout cable or fanout cable) contains several jacketed simplex optical fibers packaged together inside an outer jacket. This differs from distribution-style cable, where tight-buffered fibers are bundled together with only the outer cable jacket protecting them.
The breakout-style cable design adds strength for ruggedized drops, though the cable is larger and more expensive than distribution-style cable. Breakout cable is suitable for short riser and plenum applications and for use in conduits where simple cable runs are planned to avoid splice boxes or spliced fiber pigtails.
Because each fiber is individually reinforced, the cable can be easily divided into individual fiber lines. Each simplex cable within the outer jacket may be broken out and continue as a patch cable, enabling connector termination without special junctions and reducing or eliminating the need for fiber optic patch panels or optical distribution frames.
